The Town of Georgina is the largest municipality in York Region (in size). The town is made up of several hamlets each one is unique in its own way. We have 52 kilometres of Lake Simcoe shoreline offering something for everyone. If you are looking for a home there are almost endless possibilities.

Georgina takes pride in providing recreation facilities and is in the process of construction “THE ROC” (Recreation Outdoor Campus). THE ROC will be a state of the art outdoor facility with soccer fields, baseball diamonds, tennis courts, basket ball, volleyball, BMX/cycle park, rope park, skating pond and our tube and terrain park to be serviced with a snow making building. This complex is scheduled to be completed in 2011,

The Georgina Pioneer Village & Archives is located adjacent to the ROC. It officially opened in 1975 and is a heritage showcase for the community’s rich history. This 10 acre site is home to numerous building that interprets the history of Georgina between 1850 and 1920.

With the completion of the Hwy 404 extension to Ravenshoe Road, it will become easier for us to attract investors to our town. Georgina is an “up and coming” community and we believe that investing in Real Estate in our area is a positive move.

Lake Drive East extends all the way from Island Grove through Willow Beach and ends up in Jackson’s Point. This is also a designated walking and bicycle route. The sports enthusiast will like the easy access to the activities that the lake has to offer in summer and winter. In Keswick there is Lake Drive South and Lake Drive North and both are also great streets for walking and bicycling.

In the winter months there is an additional community on the lake. The Canadian Ice Fishing Championships has been held off our shores for many years. When the ice is frozen solid, there are many Ice hut operators to choose from. There are snowmobiles, 4 wheelers, paragliding and many more activities going on. Respect Lake Simcoe. Please always check with local ice hut operators for the current conditions of the ice.

The World is at our doorstep. We are on the Trent Waterway System and have access by boat to anywhere in the world. This makes our community very attractive if you like to travel the waterways. The Town of Georgina has plenty of Marinas that will accommodate both large and small. Respect Lake Simcoe. All lakes can be dangerous, Lake Simcoe is no different.

If Golf is you’re passion The Town of Georgina has a wide range of golf courses. From the beginner to the professional, we have courses for you.

We have some of the nicest regional forests for hiking or bike riding.

Although the following list of communities is only some of what the Town of Georgina has to offer, there are many more that are just as attractive. It is our job to introduce you to all of the wonderful areas that Georgina has to offer.

We invite you to contact us if you would like to know more about the Town of Georgina

Keswick

Keswick is our most populated area in Georgina. We are expected to accommodate growth within York Region by providing 8,000 more jobs and enough houses for 75,000 people by 2023. A large percentage of that growth will be in the Keswick Area. The new business park planned for the Keswick area is already attracting large employers to the area.

There are many different properties available in our area. We offer direct and indirect lakefront properties, canal properties, riverfront, subdivision homes, smaller first time buyers homes, rural properties and oversized lots with nice homes in our more established areas.

If you are interested in being as close to the highway as possible, this location is a manageable commute and is close to our “Big Box” stores.

Keswick also has the beauty of the lake and the woods. There are over 10 different community beaches located within the boundaries. It is just a short drive to a large regional forest for hiking and biking.

Crate’s Marina

Island Grove

This small neighbourhood is located at the end of Woodbine Avenue where there is a marina and boat taxis to Snake Island. If you are looking for indirect waterfront properties, there are plenty to choose from along Lake Drive East. There are also many properties within a short walk to the neighbourhood waterfront parks.

Willow Beach

Willow beach is only one of the many beaches along Lake Drive East. It is probably the most known because it is the largest public sand beach that the Town of Georgina has to offer. Access to this and other beaches is free for the residence.

There are many different types of properties to purchase in this area. There are indirect and direct waterfront properties as well as a wide price range of homes not on the water.

Jackson’s Point

The Jackson’s Point beautification program has done a done a wonderful job of the park. It has attracted many actives for craft shows and music. With the new marina and town dock, the lake is at you’re doorstep summer and winter.

Bonnie Park/Jackson’s Point Park is a beach area at Jackson’s Point Harbour with washrooms, picnic tables and a playground. Residents of the Town of Georgina are welcome to enjoy this facility free of charge. Please pick up you’re pass at the town office.

The Briar’s Resort has been in operation for over 165 years, providing a wide range of services. With it’s 18 hole golf course, conference facilities, full spa, recreation programming, lakefront access, trails and pool. There is a choice of rooms in the historic building or in the cottages surrounding the property.

In the 1960’s and 1970’s this area was once a thriving resort town where the streets were so full of summer residence and tourist that the sidewalks were crowded. Today it has evolved into mostly permanent residential housing.

There is a great deal of potential for this area and it has already started it’s transformation.

Virginia

This is also one of Georgina’s Gems, a small community on the shores of Lake Simcoe between Sutton and Pefferlaw. It features direct lakefront properties and more affordable properties that are on the finger roads. There are private docking facilities and private beaches exclusive for the residence. There is also access to the lake when frozen.

This community is away from the metropolitan areas but is still very community orientates with regular picnics and gatherings in the private community park

If a boat ride is you’re pleasure, this area of Lake Simcoe is protected by Georgina Island. The water is usually much calmer here than in the open lake. This is a great location for fun on the water summer and winter.

Virginia Beach Marina is where the fairy connects Georgina Island to the main land. Waterfront cottages can be purchased on the island however, the land is leased. This is a great place for a day outing or you can camp at the local family campground.

Pefferlaw

Pefferlaw has much to offer for the homeowner. There are homes in almost every price range. It offers nice riverfront and canal properties to dock you’re boat and have it protected from the lake. We have marinas on the Pefferlaw River that will accommodate almost any boat.

There are many small community areas within Pefferlaw, all of them offering a wonderful place to live.

At the end of Holmes Point Road off Highway 48 is another of our sandy beaches. Holmes Point Park has picnic tables, portable washrooms and a playground. All residence of the Town of Georgina can have free access to the park. Please pick up you’re pass at the town office.

If you travel to the end of Holmes Point Road you will find the Peninsula Resort Restaurant and Riverside Patio. If you are a boat lover the 400” boardwalk for docking is a good place to go for a boat ride and dinner or you can sit on the patio and watch the boats go by. The Hotel offers beachfront suites and in the winter there are great ice fishing packages for all.

Eaglewood

We have our own out door winter rink located at the library and Soccer field

Sutton West

Sutton West is the official name of the Postal district however; it is most referred to as Sutton. Sutton is also an area in the Town of Georgina that will experience great growth over the next few years. There is a new subdivision underway and the Retailers on the picturesque High Street will most certainly benefit. High Street reminds me what Main Street in Markham was 30 years ago. It has the heritage buildings of years gone by and makes for a lovely stroll through all the shops.

There is also a great abundant of different housing in Sutton. There are housing areas that are 100 years or older and houses areas that are new. You can be on the Black River and be able to take a canoe for miles upriver or be in an old or new neighbourhood.

The Sutton Arena is a great gathering place for locals and tourists. We house the Sutton Fair every summer and on Saturday mornings in the summer months there is a farmers market. The Old Town feel still exists here.
